Re: Equine Drowning Video Circulating on Social Media

Dear NRA members and members of the public,

This morning, the NRA/NWRA was made aware of a video circulating on social media that appears to depict the negligent drowning of a horse. The NRA has been tagged in this video, and comments allege an NRA board member witnessed this event.

The NRA wants the following information known: the events depicted in the video did not take place at an NRA event, nor does the video have any connection to the NRA as an organization. The NRA has reviewed the video, and the allegation that a board member was present in the video is false. Any association made between the NRA as an organization and this video is misleading. The welfare of animals is of paramount importance to the NRA, and the NRA strongly condemns the actions in the video.

Comments in the video further allege an NRA stock contractor and/or NRA member(s) witnessed the event. The NRA is investigating this allegation, and a determination will be made if any action needs to be taken by the NRA as it relates to its third-party contractors and any NRA members involved.

As stated, this horrendous video has no connection to the NRA as an organization or its board members. Actions such as those seen in the video are abhorrent, and the NRA wants it publicly known it had no knowledge or involvement in the actions taken in the video or its dissemination.
