2020 Northern Rodeo Association Finals Update

Billings, MT – Multiple events in the western industry and beyond have fallen victim to the effects COVID-19 has had on our economy and communities. The NRA has been subject to the effects as well. Because of the due diligence of the NRA board of directors, the NRA has been financially responsible to ensure the future of the organization for our contestants, committees, sponsors, and fans. Safeguarding the ability to rodeo into 2021 is of the utmost importance for all involved.
Because of the continuing impact of COVID-19, the NRA board has made the decision to cancel the 2020 NRA Finals. This decision has unfortunate implications for everyone, but the board decision was made to not sacrifice future rodeos for the ability to have a finals this year. We are heavyhearted that we won’t be able to have our finals in the great community of Kalispell but we appreciate their understanding and we look forward to a bigger and better finals in 2021. We understand the disappointment for those contestants that have worked all year for the opportunity to compete for the prestigious championship title. Because the NRA values our contestants, the NRA will honor the year-end champions by still awarding their buckles and saddles.
The 2020 Northern Rodeo Association and Northern Women’s Rodeo Association rodeo season has been strained. The NRA board, rodeo committees, stock contractors, our sponsors and communities have worked tirelessly to ensure rodeos could happen this year. Due to their efforts, the NRA has been able to successfully produce multiple rodeos and provide an avenue for those to compete and enjoy the great sport of rodeo.
We appreciate your understanding and continued support of the NRA & NWRA and we look forward to 2021 and many years to come.
